Chapbooks from Picaro Press

We’re particularly proud of our extensive chapbook line. This form of publication was common from the 16th through the 19th centuries before falling out of favour. It’s ideal for 21st century print-on-demand applications, however. Chapbooks are affordable, and in our view a great deal of fine poetry fits better into a 16 or 32 page chapbook than it would as a mere section in a much longer (and more expensive) volume. Our list covers a wide range of styles, and represents both established and emerging voices. Each volume costs just AUD$5.00, including domestic postage (AUD$2 more for postage overseas. Chapbooks are one more way to distribute fine poetry in an affordable form. You can afford to experiment; order a few today. Our titles are listed below, and can be ordered from our online store. And keep an eye on the list – new titles are coming out all the time. The latest is Luke Simon’s excellent Latin.
